The goal of Corn Stock Theatre’s Digital Play Series is to provide a safe alternative during the pandemic to continue in our mission.

Corn Stock recently announced A DEATHLY DEVELOPMENT, a virtual murder mystery project, in conjunction with Kathy and Whitney Chitwood of Willow Bend Theatrics. Originally this production was scheduled to air via livestream on OnTheStage.com on Saturday, November 21st and Thursday, November 26th and we regretfully must inform you that this production has been postponed. Over the weekend, Whitney suffered from unfortunate accident during preparations to film the final scenes of the show which left her on crutches for the foreseeable future along with several stitches. We are so thankful that the outcome of the accident wasn’t worse, and that Whitney is on the road to recovery. We’re sending positive and healing vibes Whitney’s way!

We will keep everyone updated as Whitney recovers and is able to resume filming the final scenes and get the final edit of the production to us so we can share it will all of you! Corn Stock staff will be reaching out to those patrons who had already purchased their tickets to one of the streams with their available options and we hope that you’ll join us once we have new production dates for A DEATHLY DEVELOPMENT.

SYNOPSIS:

A tiny town, a turkey festival, and a MURDER?! Carrie Campbell, a

prominent townsperson, has been murdered on the grounds of the Davisville Turkey Festival, and Special Investigator Getz is on the case, enlisting the viewing audience as citizen detectives, essential in solving the crime. Was it Mark, the conniving ex-boyfriend? Might it have been the blubbering baker, Bonnie, and her farmer husband, Pete? Maybe Madge, the limelight desperate socialite, is to blame? Or could the culprit be another among the cavalcade of eccentric characters who inhabit Davisville? The intrigue of the Investigation Discovery Channel meets the light-heartedness of Waiting for Guffman, A DEATHLY DEVELOPMENT is a documentary-style interweaving of suspect interrogation footage and narration. Pay close attention and you’ll be able solve WhoDunIt, HowDunIt, and WhyDunIt!
