ABOUT:​ This adaptation of Anne of Green Gables captures the charm and excitement of L.M. Montgomery’s enduring classic about an orphan girl, Anne Shirley, from her first encounter with her austere guardian to her thrilling graduation from Queen’s Academy. The play faithfully recreates the memorable events and characters from the brilliant novel. All the ‘tragedies and triumphs that mark Anne’s growth from adolescence to ‘early adulthood are here: her friendship with Diana, her feuds with ‘Gilbert, her adoration of Matthew, the mistaken wine bottle, the cake ‘disaster, the broken leg, the scholastic achievements, and the saving of Green Gables. Whether the playgoer is an “old friend” of Anne’s or ‘meeting her for the first time, this play will solidify a lasting friendship ‘between the audience and one of literature’s most unforgettable characters.

ABOUT CORN STOCK THEATRE:



Corn Stock is Peoria’s only outdoor community theatre where shows are presented under a big-top style tent. Located at 1700 N Park Road, in Peoria, Illinois, our main stage season features 5 shows each summer. The Corn Stock Theatre Center building, located just south of the Tent in Bradley Park, houses the Winter Season and the Corn Stock For Kids program. The winter season produces contemporary, adult content shows October – March, and the Corn Stock For Kids program produces two shows annually and a summer workshop for ages 7-18. Join us!

“After 4 years in commercial carpentry and building houses, Steve started S.F. Pauli Builders with one employee in 1977. The business incorporated in 1978 and continued to grow as a general contractor in Peoria. A large portion of our work was on historic homes in the Moss/Bradley area. In 2015 with an eye toward retirement, Steve began partnering with Jeremy Lowrance, owner of Rustic Oaks Lawn and Grounds. Now with an expanded staff and a new location in East Peoria, we continue to provide carpentry service and general contracting to homeowners and businesses, specializing in home remodeling, commercial remodeling, and room additions.”

About:
While Hearth represents Hugh Higgins’ dream-come-true, the restaurant is very much a family venture. In fact, having their own restaurant together has long been a dream of Hugh and his brother Rudy, ever since they worked side-by-side in a restaurant in Boston in the mid-1970s.
 
When Hearth first opened, Hugh’s brother Rudy ran the kitchen during the day and was Executive Chef for lunch service. He has since retired but his presence is still felt here. In the evening, Hugh’s son Seth Higgins still remains as Executive Chef.
 
Hugh did not come into this venture blind. Indeed, he was no stranger to the restaurant business and he worked in the industry as a young man until he started raising a family. He took a job in the wine and spirits industry because the hours were more reasonable; but the job still allowed Hugh to work closely with restaurateurs and help them plan their menus. It also afforded him the opportunity to dine in many of the Midwest’s finest restaurants.
 

He never lost sight of his dream to own his own restaurant and about three years ago, the opportunity came. Mary Kilpatrick, owner of French Toast restaurant in Peoria Heights, knew of his dream and offered him the chance to buy her restaurant. Armed with menus he’d been planning for years he bought the restaurant, redecorated and added his own touches, and opened in November 2013.
