Dark Passages: The Cask of Amontillado and The Yellow Sign.

Synopsis: Dark Passages brings together two classic tales of horror fiction adapted just for the Corn Stock stage. “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe tells a chilling tale of revenge, family honor, and fine Spanish wine. “The Yellow Sign” by Robert W. Chambers follows a young artist and his model as they try to navigate their burgeoning feelings for each other, while also trying to unravel the mystery of their ominous dreams and a strange, grotesque figure outside the window in the churchyard below. For over a century, these stories have fascinated and unsettled from the page, but now we invite you to delve into the darkness on stage!

Corn Stock is Peoria’s only outdoor community theatre where shows are presented under a big-top style tent. Located at 1700 N Park Road, in Peoria, Illinois, our main stage season features 5 shows each summer. The Corn Stock Theatre Center building, located just south of the Tent in Bradley Park, houses the Winter Season and the Corn Stock For Kids program. The winter season produces contemporary, adult content shows October – March, and the Corn Stock For Kids program produces two shows annually and a summer workshop for ages 7-18. Join us!
