The Matchmaker (Video-on-Demand) Cast

Anna Weis (Dolly Levi)
Mrs. Dolly Levi, the unflappable matchmaker, arranges the lives and adventures of several characters eager to seek a change in their life. Anna has been performing on the MHS stage since freshman year, she appeared in 2019 as the witch in "Into the Woods" and the SOB Sister/Reporter in "Radium Girls". She is also a member of the Central Wisconsin Jerry Ensemble, an elite musical performance group that is affiliated with the Grand Theatre in Wausau.
Clinton Tompkins (Horace Vandergelder)
Mr. Vandergelder, a miserly widow who runs the general store in Yonkers, New York, has decided that his penny-pinching ways has made him a half-millionaire who is in need of a wife. He recruits Dolly Levi to help him in this matter, but through the perils of mistake identities and laughable mishaps, Vandergelder realizes that he needs to change his ways to experience the beauty of life. Clinton last appeared on the MHS stage as the Mysterious Man in "Into the Woods" and received an Outstanding Supporting Actor Jerry Award for his performance.
Mason Peckham (Cornelius Hackl)
33-year-old Cornelius Hackl works tirelessly as Mr. Vandergelder's store clerk, hoping one day to be promoted to partner. When Vandergelder promotes him without giving him a suitable wage (or one day off per week), Cornelius decides it is time for an adventure, when he closes the store while Mr. Vandergelder is away. Mason last appeared in "Radium Girls" as Grace Fryer's loyal boyfriend, Tom Kreider.
Benjamin Salzwedel (Barnaby Tucker)
Barnaby Tucker is the 17-year-old store clerk at Vandergelder's General Store. A bit naive about the world and what's out there, Barnaby decides to follow Cornelius into their "adventure" out while Vandergelder is in New York City. This Ben's last appearance on the MHS stage, previously appearing as Dr. Von Sochocky in "Radium Girls" and the prince's courtier in "Into the Woods".
Natasha Gaertner (Mrs. Irene Molloy)
Mrs. Molloy is a "wicked" woman who runs her own women's hat business at a time when independent woman business owners were considered distrustful in society. Despite the perception, and the loss of her husband, she's decided to make the most out of life and remarry again. Although Mr. Vandergelder is courting Mrs. Molloy, Irene falls for another eligible, younger bachelor, who knows Mr. Vandergelder even better than Mrs. Molloy! Natasha last appeared on the MHS stage in 2019's "Radium Girls" but also appeared in "Into the Woods" as Cinderella's evil Stepmother.
Lillie Boero (Minnie Fay)
Minnie Fay is the young, sheltered shop assistant to Mrs. Molloy who yearns for an adventure of her own! Lillie has participated behind the scenes and on stage over the past three years at MHS, but was last performing in front of a live audience in "Radium Girls" as the scientist who discovered Radium, Madame Marie Curie.
Peter Tompkins (Ambrose Kemper)
Ambrose Kemper, the artist, has fallen in love with Ermengarde and is determined to defy Vandergelder's wishes and marry her no matter what. He convinces Ermengarde that taking a risk on love is worth making, and follows Dolly Levi's idea to go to the city till Vandergelder can be convinced otherwise about the marriage proposal. Peter makes his debut on the MHS stage with this production!
Sarah McKee (Ermengarde, Vandergelder's Niece)
Ermengarde is Mr. Vandergelder's remaining relative, who lives with Horace after losing both parents. Having fallen for a young artist named Ambrose, she is ready to marry him without her Uncle's approval. Trying to send her to the city to get Ermengarde away from the young man, Ermengarde, instead, receives help from Mrs. Levi to spend time with Ambrose and still, hopefully, marry him in the end. This is Sarah, a freshman, is making her first appearance on the MHS stage!
Charlotte Johnson (Malachi Stack)
Malachi Stack is the older apprenticed store clerk of Mr. Vandergelder's, who only recently becomes employed without meeting the other clerks! As a result, mistaken identities run rampant, and Malachi is able to share his own advice for the audience and impart some to Vandergelder as well. Charlotte is a versatile performer who is appearing in her fourth production on the MHS stage. Charlotte's range includes a cat puppeteer, the voice of the Giant in "Into the Woods" and Grace Fryer's mother in "Radium Girls".
Olivia Anderson (Ermengarde, Understudy)
Ermengarde is Mr. Vandergelder's remaining relative, who lives with Horace after losing both parents. Olivia is making her first appearance on the MHS stage with the role of Vandergelder's naïve niece.
Makenna Yeske (Miss Flora Van Huysen)
Miss Flora Van Huysen is the older friend and spinster of Emermengarde's late mother, and a friend of Dolly Levi. While living a model life, she also sees herself as a friend to all young lovers, having lost out on her own lost love years and years ago. Her flighty nature and buoyant personality are represented by flying objects in Act Four such as birds and butterflies. This play is Makenna's eighth and final production at MHS, who has graced the stage with many unique performances over the years. She last performed in the full-length play "Radium Girls" as Grace Fryer, the lead character who seeks justice for the wrongs the Radium company committed.
Caroline Thompson (Musician/Van Huysen's Cook)
Miss Van Huysen's loyal cook is used to her employer's antics and illusions, but as the cook of the household, she fiercely tries to maintain order. In addition, Caroline also appears in Act Three as the musician in Harmonia Gardens restaurant. Caroline has appeared on stage at MHS in four shows, with one of her most memorable as a stepsister in "Into the Woods" her freshman year.
Grace Cutting (Vandergelder's Housekeeper)
Gertrude, Mr. Vandergelder's elderly maid, is mistreated and underappreciated by Mr. Vandergelder. As the maid of the household, she knows more and understands more than she lets on! Grace is a senior at MHS making her stage debut in "The Matchmaker".
Jaime Boero (Joe Scanlon, barber)
Joe Scanlon, Vandergelder's barber, witnesses the careless, frugal nature of Horace Vandergelder and offers advice that Horace refuses to take. Jaime makes his stage debut at MHS in "The Matchmaker".
Ira Mitroshin (Rudolph, Head Waiter of Harmonia Gardens)
Rudolph is the German immigrant and head waiter at Harmonia Gardens restaurant near the Battery in NYC. He manages to keep a tight ship, despite the antics that the restaurant's patrons play on him and others over the course of a meal! Ira is a senior making his stage debut at MHS, and has navigated the tricky dialectal patterns of a German waiter pronouncing French cuisine!
Hannah Moin (Augustina, First Waiter)
Augustina serves as the newly-trained first waiter to the head waiter at Harmonia Gardens. Despite the elite title, the flustered waitstaff are easily misled and confused by the parties in attendance at the restaurant. This is Hannah's second full-length play at MHS, and she's gained experience both on the stage and behind the scenes in her first two years here at MHS.
Marily Acosta (Augustina, First Waiter Understudy)
Augustina serves as the newly-trained first waiter to the head waiter at Harmonia Gardens. Despite the elite title, the flustered waitstaff are easily misled and confused by the parties in attendance at the restaurant. Marily is a freshman appearing in her first production at MHS.
Gavin Peckham (Cabman)
The unknowing cabman appears in Act Three, and is forced into a convoluted plot of mischief with Mr. Vandergelder at the helm. The realistic cabman goes along with the ploy when he negotiates a sum worthy of his time. Gavin makes is stage debut in the first full-length play at MHS. He appeared in the one-act play season as the devoted boyfriend Dane in "Horror Movie 101: Heirlooms".
